PM approach guides (blueprint)
Purpose: Deeper, product-agnostic guides for project management approaches than the short summaries in PM.md. Each file explains the approach on its own terms, links to authoritative external material, and states how it maps to PM process groups and (where applicable) SDLC phases A–F and PDLC phases P1–P6.
Audience: Teams adopting Project management (PM); project-specific overrides stay in project-level planning docs.
| Guide | Topics |
|---|---|
| PMI/PMBOK | Standards-based PM body of knowledge; 12 principles, 8 performance domains (7th ed); predictive, Agile, and hybrid tailoring; mapping to PM.md process groups and SDLC/PDLC. |
| PRINCE2 | Process-based controlled-environment PM; 7 principles, 7 themes, 7 processes; management by exception; PRINCE2 Agile integration; mapping to PM.md and SDLC/PDLC. |
| Six Sigma / Lean Six Sigma | Data-driven quality and process improvement; DMAIC and DMADV cycles; belt system; statistical tools; positioning as a PM-adjacent discipline; mapping to SDLC and PDLC. |

Bridge to SDLC and PDLC: PM ↔ SDLC ↔ PDLC bridge — how these approaches relate to delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP, phased) in Methodology guides (blueprint) and product approaches (Dual-Track, Stage-Gate, Lean Startup) in PDLC approach guides (blueprint).
